Winter
This month's light is shining brightly on SL performer, ll ƜIƝƬƐɌ ll, and what an appropriate name because it's the beginning of winter for most of us here in SL. As most of you know from me blogging Winter a couple months ago, this country girl lost her marbles one day and went the scene of rock! And I'm happy I did, or I never would have heard the talented Winter! Who woulda thunk I'd be jumping up and down, fist in the air, banging my head to rock music. Thank you so very much Winter for allowing me to ask you some questions and answering them so genuinely. So my friends, read further my invasion into the world of SL Singer, Winter!!! - Trishia
Trishia - SL has quite a potpourri of talented singing artists from around the world. Can you tell us what country you reside in the real world and a little about yourself? Do you sing or have you sung at real life venues, etc.
Winter - HI Trish!! Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to do this with me! I am from Cyprus! A little country island in the Mediterranean! Yes I am a RL singer in a Melodic/Symphonic Metal Band in RL. We have recently released our 6th album worldwide, but due to Covid things are tough, so here I am in SL more, and loving every minute of it!
Trishia - Each artist has a story of how the came to SL. Will you share yours with us?
Winter - Sure! :) In 2010, I heard about SL and made my 1st attempt to get on! I entered a Bloodlines Clan and had a lot of fun for 6-7 months. I then left, and lost my account details. In 2018, on Halloween (so weird), I returned with a new avatar to try and find my Old Bloodlines Clan. Failed Miserably! But I did find another Clan! I used to play songs for them on Voice, just for fun!
Arisha (DJ Flames) was the one to show me the world of Live Music in SL. I had NO idea. She showed me how to stream and the tip jar thing. So, on April 1st 2019, I had my FIRST SL show! And the funny part was that it was a 2 hour show!
Trishia - You play a killer guitar! Do you play any other instruments?
Winter - Thank you so much, but I honestly don't consider myself a guitarist. I am a Singer above everything else :)
But to answer your question, yes I do play the piano too! It's how I started with Music! At the age of 7, I started Piano Lessons.
Trishia - You have a large song list. What is your favorite genre? Do you have a favorite song? Do you have a favorite song requested?
Winter - I do have a large song list; this is because I play in SL everyday. sometimes 2 times, sometimes 3 times in a day!
I get bored with the songs, playing them over and over again. So I learn new songs all the time to keep my audiences interested in me, and me interested in singing! At heart, I Love Rock and Heavy Metal. So that's my genre :)Favorite song changes ALL the time! And its usually the Newest one I add to the List! As for Requests, I absolutely LOVE them. ALL requests! I am here for my audience! I sing for them! So when i get requests I get to sing what my audience wants to hear!
Trishia - You are very friendly, funny and engaging with your fans. And you have the cutest band members! Do you have any stories of fan incidents you would like to share?
Winter - As I mentioned above, I sing for the people that came to hear me! ALWAYS! Without them, we would be singing in the showers alone! Granted, the acoustics are great, but it's not fun to sing alone! So I try to be funny and engaging to all my fans. To me, each person that comes to me is special in their own way, and i am friends with most of my fans. I appreciate them and respect above all. I prefer for them to come and have fun with me at the show, and if they can't tip, it's all good! I know that when they can, they will! ummm.... .no stories that I can think of to share. :))))
Trishia- Your partner, Holly Giles, is also a very talented singing artist here in SL. Can you tell us a bit of your relationship? How did you meet? Do you compete against each other? LOL
Winter - Yes she is! She is a great vocalist! We don't compete at all. We made sure to never book any of our shows at the same time, on purpose! LOL. I met Holly from the SL live music Scene. We were friends 1st! One day, out of the blue, we realized that our Linden homes were practically next to each other. We were neighbors, and she was the girl next door! She came over to say "Hi Neighbor", and the rest is history!
Trishia- You and Holly also run the charity Together As One (TAO). Please tell us about the charity and how it came into existence.
Winter- TAO is a festival I always wanted to do for may reasons! There are so many fund-raisers in SL but almost never for children, unless its the actual charity doing it themselves!
With TAO it's a Chance for people to come together, have fun , and raise money for a great cause! Each time, for a Children's Charity! Holly has been with me from Day 1 and helped me more than I could ever hope so! I am forever thankful to her for helping me realize my dream! TAO is about our children, the future, and if we can do SOMETHING to help our children, we should! Together As One!
Trishia - In closing is there anything you would like us to know about you that I haven’t asked?
