Wes West @ Zoffee's Midnight Blues 23/10/21

I first met Wes West last year when I blogged him at The Mystic Muse, a venue owned by another 2 great SL performers Velvet Rose and Sully VonSwag. Wes and I hit it off instantly and have gone on to become very close friends, so not only is he one of my favourite performers in SL, he is also one of my favourite people. When he asked me to tag along to his show tonight I quickly changed out of my gardening clothes, threw on a dress and headed on over to Zoffee's Midnight Blues. Wes did you actually ask me to tag along or am I still stalking you????? Shuffles the paperwork on my desk looking for the document the police gave me that time...oh well cant find it so I guess its not stalking.

Wes like me wears his heart on his sleeve and after a recent life event in SL I did have to put my stiletto'd heel down and say please no depressing songs. I am pleased to say that he listened (for once ha ha)

Kicking the night off with To Make You Feel My Love, I was once again reminded of just what a soothing voice Wes has. A voice that calmly washes over you until all of the days tensions are released and all you are left with is a peaceful, easy feeling (hang on isn't that a song).

Next came the start of a set of threes with Down On The Corner (the cowbell song) As Long As I Can See The Rain and Born on the Bayou by John Fogarty. Followed by Three Dog Night's Momma Told Me Not To Come, One Is The Loneliest Number (slightly depressing but I let it slide) and Celebrate. Taking Care Of Business, or as Zoffee calls it Baking Carrot Biscuits, Learning To Fly and Bad Moon Rising were next before Wes launched into a series of songs by The Eagles (Wes did you know they are my favourite band...oh wait yeah you do).I must say that his version of Love Will Keep Us Alive is simply stunning.

As he finished up with another two of my favourites, the beautiful Vincent by Don Mclean and Tangled Up In You by Staind, I did have to send an im asking if he was purposely playing all of my favourite songs because if I didn't look around and see the others in the room I could swear that it was a concert for one.

As always Wes it was a wonderful set.
