Lyric Serendipity @ Kiss Me Hard Club 21/10/21

Today was Dropping The Stream Day at the new Kiss Me Hard club. As always, during the Halloween season, there were fantastical decorations. Éva βlóóðŵěll, Kiss Me Hard's, General Manager shared the excitement about their venue and the amazing acts lined up. Right after this awesome show was Virgil, who I'm sure you'll hear more about shortly. Kiss Me Hard will be adding top notch DJ's to their entertainment line up shortly. Based on the details in the very pub like venue, I'm excited to come back for the next round of decorations.

Today's draw for me was the siren voice of Lyric Serendipity. I had meant to share a review of one of her shows back in May, but before I could compile my notes, I got pretty sick (all better now, thank you!). I was happy to be able to devote a flying hour this afternoon to record some of my observations from this amazing show.

I can't imagine how hard it is to select songs day after day. I suspect it takes more emotional energy that I can muster in SL for sure. Lyric clearly put some effort into arranging today's list of ear candy. She started off with the anthem from "Eddie and The Cruisers" with the fictional Beaver Brown Band's "Darkside". Did I say beaver? Apparently this was on everyone's mind at KMH today. Lyric wisely avoided the local chat and launched into the Halloween classic from Warren Zevon, "Werewolf in London" (ahhooooooo) and then 3 Doors Down "Kryptonite". For what its worth, there was not a superman to be found amongst all the skeletons, witches and, ahem, beavers.

Lyric's rendition of "Hungry Like The Wolf" got the entire club jumping. When she finished "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" by Death Cab For Cutie, we were all trying to catch our breath, except oddly for Éva βlóóðŵěll, who was trying to catch, ahem, beavers. Lyric, the consumate performer, took pity on us (well, me) and delivered a soulful version of Heart's "Alone" and then cranked her fans back up to their feet with Stevie Wonder's "Superstitious" and segued smoothly into another Heart song, their ode to ruthless love, "Barracuda"

Demonstrating her amazing range, and my lack of "modern" song knowledge, she wowed the crowd with "Spiderweb" from No Doubt (Halloween to the left, Halloween to the right) followed with the supergroup Cream's "Strange Brew", the 80s classic "I Want Candy", which is seems is not what Éva wants. Rounding out this blazingly fast hour of talent came Concrete Blonde's "Bloodletting (The Vampire Song)" and CCR's "Bad Moon Rising"

At a young age Lyric taught herself to play a variety of instruments and was that girl you'd see walking around town always carrying her guitar. Although she started out main

ly as a musician, she always found herself drawn to singing. Her influences include Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Sheryl Crow, Linda Ronstadt, Led Zepplin, Aerosmith, The Pretenders, Joan Jett, Tom Petty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, REM, British Invasion Bands, Dire Straits, The Ramones, The Cars, Grhig

A Boston-based vocalist, Lyric has been performing for audiences in Second Life for over a decade. Her shows are typically heavy on the classic 60s - 90s rock, pop and blues tunes, with a few contemporary songs thrown in for good measure. Lyric takes you on a roller coaster ride through the decades, with songs of love, heartbreak, lust, angst and youthful rebellion. Her audiences enjoy hearing the songs that have been the soundtrack of their lives. She has a comprehensive and vast list of eclectic and iconic songs in her repertoire.

Lyric is a mumbling, giggling, by-the-seat-of-her-pants performer who welcomes everyone to join her on stage. She loves song requests and dedications and she always delivers a fun and energetic set. Her main goal is to ensure her audiences have a good time.

I hope to see you at a Lyric Serendipity show soon!
