Krisie Snowdrop @ Cafe Musique 05/10/21
Krisie Snowdrop or as my friend Sully Von Swag calls her Krisie Giggles , (because she has the sweetest giggle and giggles often), was playing at Cafe Musique today so I decided to head on over and get myself a much needed dose of one of the bubbliest ladies in Sl.
A Krisie show is guaranteed to always be fun and you never know what's going to happen from one song to the next, A random comment from someone in local can spark Krisie's attention and the whole set will change from there on. This lady loves to sing and as a long time performer in SL she is one of the rare ones that doesn't have a tip jar... why you may ask? because Krisie sings for the love of it and leaving her audience with a smile is all the payment that she needs. A rare gem indeed.
Landing at Cafe Musique's indoor venue I jumped on a dance pad just as Krisie was starting out with that great Bonnie Raitt tune "Lets Give Them Something To Talk About". This led into Bonnie Tyler's "It's A Heartache" and Kim Carnes "Bette Davis Eyes" which had the banter in local talking about thighs and spies and hair of Harlow gold. I should have known then that it was a bad idea to be in the middle of Krisie's CEO, Guardian and her RL hubby Vin. I was just asking for trouble from these two. My whacking stick came out just in case.
The comments were lively and the laughs plenty as Krisie continued on with the 80's vibe singing Eddie Rabbit's "Driving MY Life Away" and Alannah Myles, "Black Velvet" before switching over to some country (I suspect that Krisie really is a country girl at heart) A beautiful song by The Dixie Chicks "Cowboy Take Me Away" came next as Krisie explained that the Dixie has been dropped and the girls are now just The Chicks...ok thats kinda weird..maybe they don't like Dixie anymore..shrugs. Tanya Tucker's "Delta Dawn" had me smiling wide as I have clear memories of running around my grandparents house singing this and Billie Don't Be A Hero as a child....both songs are still on my playlist.
Krisie paused between songs to greet the audience and give praise to her fellow SL artists that had come out to see her perform. She also gave a shout out to Droppin The Stream, encouraging all to take a look at this blog that I have created, reinforcing in my mind what a truly good person she is.
The hour continued on as Krisie mixed it up with 'Mama He's Crazy" by The Judds, "Bubbly" by Colbie Calliat, Fleetwood Macs "Dreams' just to name a few, but the highlight of the night for me was when Krisie said that she was stealing one of Vin's songs and launched into "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", which had Vin remarking that she is a dirty, rotten song stealer lol. Let me tell you this lady did not miss a beat nor did she pause for breath, giving it her all and what a awesome version it was. Now I know what song I will be requesting at future Krisie shows :).
The hour was over all too soon and as I said my goodbye's and TP'd out I was smiling as I always do when Ms Snowdrop sings. If you haven't heard her before, make sure you keep an eye out and catch her when you can. Also be sure to keep an eye on who is playing at Cafe Musique as they have some of the best artists in SL perform there.
Thank You Krisie, you are just an absolute delight.
