JimmyT 49 Dukes @ I Pink I Can for Breast Cancer Awareness 13/10/21
You know there's hardly anyone now who has not somehow been touched or affected by some type of cancer. Of these, the one that has our attention right now at the "I Pink I Can" fall event is Breast Cancer. I am particularly supportive of this event as my daughter is a "survivor." I remember what she went through, and I thank God every day that she is among the survivors. Some are not so fortunate, and because of that, we need to do all we can to get this eradicated from our ladies!
So last night I had the privilege of blogging Jimmyt49 Dukes for "Droppin the Stream", and it was and hour I won't forget! JimmyT has been in SL for quite a while but it was my first time at one of his sets and it won't be the last! The quality of his voice, his expertise on guitar, and the professionalism he conveyed as he related to his audience made it a memorable evening. I've heard a lot of blues in my day, but I have to say, JimmyT is at the top of my list. He's got the raw sounds of Joe Bonamassa as he sang "Dust Bowl", "Sloe Gin" and "The Whale That Swallowed Jonah". His voice was as smooth as melting butter with his version of "Gravity" by John Mayer, and his licks on the strings of "Going Home" by Kenny G was some kind of amazing!
JimmyT showed us a little bit of a country side with "In Case You Didn't Know" by Brett Young, and then it was back to some of the best guitar playing I've ever heard as he worked his magic with "Bridge of Sighs" a Robin Trower oldie, Alicia Keys, "Fallin" and finished off with Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Superstition."
I'll be going back because JimmyT owes me "Drive" by Joe B and I know he'll make good on that. Grin... But seriously, I can't remember when I have heard the blues done as well as JimmyT does it. The concert was for a very worthy cause and JimmyT stepped up to the plate for these ladies and gave it all.
Thanks JimmyT49 Dukes! You are a class act!
JimmyT hails from Virginia and has been singing for SL audiences for about 15 years. He doesn't have a formal bio right now but has it on his "to do" list. However, let me just say, this man has a gift and a talent that goes far beyond anything I've heard here in SL. It doesn't come from years of practice, or from taking a ton of lessons, it is a gift from his creator and he uses it well.
