Jack Slade @ home in the side yard 27/02/21
An embarrassing story of when I first saw Jack Slade. It was a month or so ago and I was sent a tp to hear Jack for the first time. It was my morning and only a few minutes left of the hour, so only about 2 songs that I got to hear before it was over. As I was listening I was looking around thinking what a beautiful "venue" it was and how some of the landscaping, furniture etc would look good at my place. Anyway the hour was up I left but later got to thinking how pretty that "venue " was so I thought that I would go back and take another look. I landed, wandered a bit and then walked around a corner and there was Jack......seems it wasn't a "venue" at all it was his and Miss Lou's home. Mortified, I apologised profusely and quickly left. Luckily Jack was gracious and accepted my compliments on their land so when a friend said he was playing at home again today I decided to bite the bullet and hope that he didn't remember my intrusion. Playing in the "side yard" Jack was standing on the pool deck, guitar in hand and I was once again looking around thinking well done on landscaping. After admiring the yard I was taken in by Jacks voice and as I listened I realised that I didn't recognise any of the songs he was singing. They were all originals and just so very beautifully written. With titles like How Much I Love You, For Who You Really Are, Beautiful, Concealed, I Miss You ,Jack has either been in and out of love a few times or Miss Lou is one great muse :) As Jack spoke in between songs the 4 letter words were thrown about so casually that I had to look to see if he was an Aussie as I thought only we swore like that. A really nice hour spent listening to a lovely voice in a lovely setting. If you haven't heard him before keep an eye on events and go get yourself a dose of Jack Slade.
