Grace Loudon @ The Mystic Muse 11/03/21

Grace Loudon how sweet is her sound, and while I wasn’t lost I am beyond thrilled that my path led me to Grace and The Mystic Muse today, a venue owned by Sully and Velvet, amazing performers whom have been blogged by DTS recently. Surrounded by swirls of coloured smoke Grace started off with Larkin Poe’s Holy Ghost Fire, which gained my attention immediately as I have only recently been introduced to this band and I love them. This alone had me curious as to what Grace would continue on with and as the set progressed from Adele, Fleetwood Mac, Bill Withers, Metallica, and Eric Clapton, just to name a few I found myself not only intrigued but thoroughly impressed. Grace went effortlessly from powerhouse to sweet to soulful to “pretty” to bluesy without missing a beat and even when she had to stop midway through a song she seamlessly picked right back up from where she left off. Gold Dust Woman, Aint No Sunshine When She’s Gone, Wicked Games and her original Just Like Water had already won me over but it was her version of Clapton’s, Wonderful Tonight that had Sully passing me the tissues. Grace Loudon has a voice that is so hauntingly beautiful you will remember it long after the chills up and down your spine have gone.
