Grace Loudon @ I Pink I Can 2021

Day 1 of I Pink I Can and Grace Loudon is on stage to give her time to help raise money for the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign that has once again been put on by tireless campaigner Jenny Anatine and her army of Anatine family and supporters.

I for one have been looking forward to hearing Grace perform as I personally think that she is one of the finest female vocalists that SL has. Not only that but she is an extremely gifted songwriter and as she kicked off her hour with an original, Just Like Water, a country/rock song about a girl and her ummm needs so to speak, I was reminded of just how talented she is. I have loved this song from the very first time I heard Grace perform it at The Mystic Muse so long ago and I still wish that there was some way that I could have it on my play list. (side note Grace please put it on your Soundcloud)

Aint No Sunshine was next, followed by Adele's "Sweet Devotion, LP "Lost on You" and Fleetwood Macs "Gold Dust Woman" and then Grace , all the while encouraging the audience to donate deeply to the cause, informed us that for the next song she was going to do Pink on a loop. Now I am not up to date on this musical jargon, not being a muso myself, so I went to the one in the audience who would walk me through it, Sully Von Swag. As Sully explained to me what looping meant Grace started "What About Us" , Sully in my IMs explaining what was happening and OMG OMG OMG . To hear Grace layering sound over sound over sound to make a collage of instruments and voices (her voice) which all came together and added so much more depth to the song was amazing. Looooooooved it !!!!!

Another original "I'm In Love" a bluesy tune touched me deeply as did A Fine Frenzy's "Almost a Lover" for Grace has a voice that just reaches deep inside you and makes you FEEL the very emotions that she conveys with each word and note that she sings. I am a wearer of my heart on my sleeve and as such am not ashamed to admit that my eyes were watering on more than one occasion, such is the beauty of her voice.

Grace's manager Troy Pruitt-Nelson from Music Speaks Management summed it up perfectly when he said that Grace sings to your soul. Troy you nailed it for that is exactly what Grace does.

Throughout the hour the donations were pouring in for I Pink I Can and the American Cancer Society and if day 1 is anything to go by the amount raised is going to be phenomenal. Please keep an eye on events, not only for where Grace is playing next but for the rest of the I Pink I Can lineup, or simply jump on over to the sim for some great shopping and raffles. Every linden raised will help kick cancer to the curb,
