AM Quar @ Snug Harbor 10/10/21

There is this great little place that reminds me a lot of the ocean and the quaint little villages here on the East Coast. It's called "Snug Harbor", and has a little boardwalk with lots of ocean surrounding it. Standing there, I could hear seagulls in the distance and almost smell the familiar odor's of salt, sand and sea. It has this underwater spot called "Neptune's Court" complete with fish swimming and underwater vegetation. There are also a bunch of other very cool places to check out from a teleport board. Oh, and did I mention there are some "Old World" ships out in the Harbor? Settled in the center of it is a club that has all the ambiance of an ocean setting, except this one is decorated with witches, ghosts, and the grim reaper! The owner, Ty Lomes has got the Halloween spirit!

I arrived and found a spot as AM Quar was taking the stage along with his drummer and a couple of "witchy women".

The club began to fill up as AM hit his first notes on "Sugar" by Maroon 5 and I thought.."this is going to be a "bluesy night"! AM has that quality in his voice that makes every song almost sing itself! His "Boom, Boom" done by John Lee Hooker brought me right down to New Orleans and the quarter, but before I could settle in, AM was rasping "Hoochie Koochie Man" from the likes of Muddy Waters. From there he swung into a BB King oldie, "The Thrill is Gone". But I have to say it sure wasn't gone for all of us on the dance floor!

AM kept us entertained and dancing to so many great songs, (and watching those gals on stage with him wasn't too hard on the eyes either) I soon found myself swaying to "La Vida Loca", made popular by Ricky Martin and that was actually the beginnings of the Latin Pop Movement in music.

AM has the ability to make every song he sings his own and that was the case with "I Need You Tonight" from the album Kick by INXS. Before I knew it, the evening was over, but, one of the great things about AM Quar is, he leaves you with some great memories and wanting more! If you've been in SL very long at all and you haven't taken in a set by AM, then you're missing out. When it comes to the different genres he belts out, I'd have to say in my opinion, he's a "purist" so look him up and check him out!

Bio:

AM Quar (known in RL as Andre Massicotte) sings in 3 languages (English, French & Spanish); his original music rocks the Grid, while his remix covers keep his devoted fans dancing in their chairs, while their avatars dance in the sim! His lightening guitar licks and rock-n-roll style are an audio knock out punch, and a must hear for any music fan in this virtual world, or any other. AM can go from crooning a sensual ballad to rocking your socks off in the space of one hour, and his original music, based in part on his experience in Second Life, will have you nodding your head to both the tempo and the witty lyrics.
