PrettyBelle72 @ Zack’s Roadhouse 1/4/22

Well ladies and gentlemen March came in like a lion and went out like a lamb, and now April will begin to bring us some beautiful weather!! (At least for us in the northern hemisphere – sorry my down under friends as your autumn then winter begins) And talk about beautiful – I had the awesome pleasure this evening of listening to the exquisite PrettyBelle72! Even her name is beautiful - PrettyBelle. The venue, Zack’s Roadhouse, as you know, is one of my favorite venues in SL. Bran and Edmond O’Connell still have the wooden constructed building with a huge dance floor and a bar with free-flowing beer, but they have changed the outside to a beach atmosphere. There is plenty sand to squish between your toes, palm trees, and fascinating waterfalls to gaze upon to relax after a stressful day. Bran & Edmond are always there to greet you, along with a very friendly host, to make sure you are feeling very welcomed!

PrettyBelle opened her set with a couple of hip hop songs, “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan and “Sexyback” by Justin Timberlake. Then, much to my surprise, PrettyBelle sang one of my favorite old time Beatle’s songs, “When I’m 64”. “Will you still need me, will you still feed me when I’m 64?” How many people ponder that question when they marry at 24?

PrettyBelle has a light, sweet, pure, and ever so free sounding voice. She even has a sweet speaking voice filled with dynamite charisma as she bantered with her fans. She continuously greeted the guests arriving and seemed so genuinely happy they were joining her. Taking me back about 20 years, PrettyBelle sang “Kiss Me” by Six Pence None The Richer. That angelic voice had me reminiscing of years gone by as a young girl falling in love during the summer months with the boy next door and kissing under the stars on warm evenings watching the fireflies. Sigh

Another interesting song PrettyBelle’s beautiful voice graced us with was written and sung by Ed Sheeran entitled “The A Team”. Ed wrote this song after visiting and performing at a homeless shelter in London. He was very touched by the stories he was told and one in particular by a girl named Angel who prostituted herself to support her cocaine addiction.

“White lips, pale face, breathing in the snowflakes. Burnt lungs, sour taste. Lights gone, days end struggling to pay rent, long nights strange men”

Addiction in any form - drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, food, sex is a pretty rough road to travel down. It’s hard to imagine someone living just for that next “high”. We don’t always realize the problems others are experiencing, but if you find someone struggling with addiction, be a friend, try to encourage them to seek counseling and get clean. Spiritual guidance - “A come to Jesus moment” is always an excellent path to help one rid themself of their obsessed influence. Life is too short to live clinging to a vice that will destroy you physically and mentally.

PrettyBelle is known for her “ballroom” type of genre with descriptions of a gorgeous voice filled with rich tones. However, she also has an ability to sing many different genres as displayed this evening with her variety of song choices such as: “Hard to Handle” - Black Crowes, “Dancing On My Own” - Callum Scott, “One of my Kind”, “Come Away With Me” - Nora Jones, “Lonestar” – Nora Jones (which PrettyBelle sang for Neomax her partner), “The Best Part of Me” - Ed Sheeran, “Someone you Loved” - Lew Capldi, “Burning House” – Cam, “Creep” – Radiohead, and “#1 Crush” – Garbage. All these songs showcased her versatility, and ability to satisfy anyone’s musical preference of pop, jazz, country, or rock.

Experiencing PrettyBelle this evening at Zack’s Roadhouse was a fun and delightful musical adventure. I sincerely hope you will take some time out and search PrettyBelle and catch a performance!! TY for the fun PrettyBelle!! Huugggsss
