Krisie Snowdrop and Vin Grizot @ Kona Beach 21/01/22

Tonight a message came though group chat that Krisie Snowdrop and her RL hubby Vin Grizot were teaming up for a set at Kona Beach and Surfing for what would be Vin's first hour long set singing in SL. We all know that Krisie is one of the best performers on the grid and I have heard her and Vin do a few duets at the Cafe Music Open Mic so I was excited,( and if you have been to a Krisie show you know that Vin is often the source of much heckling in local , which he gives back as good as he gets.) So throwing on a bikini and sarong I headed on over to Kona Beach for Vins debut..

Kona Beach and surfing is a great place to hang if you want to kick back and relax,. There are large swimming pools with an impressive bar if you dont like the ocean, a lot of sun lounges to laze about on and of course surfing if you are up for it (next time I will). On landing I found a spot under the shade of a palm tree and with the sun on my face and sand between my toes, Krisie and Vin on stage ready to start I was smiling. Life certainly was good today.

Krise took to the mic welcoming all, explaining that it was their first time singing at Kona and Vin's first time as a performer and as he was just a little nervous she was going to kick off the set, which she did with Breathless by The Corrs. When the song was over, Krisie passed the mic to Vin and as he started singing Toes by Zack Brown Band you could hear the nerves coming through but everyone in attendance was so encouraging that he soon relaxed and started to have fun.

Krisie was up next with Love You Like A Love Song by Selena Gomez before she and Vin launched into The Devil Went Down To Georgia by Charlie Daniels. I absolutely loved this, its such a fast paced song and they did it so well...Krisie does it at her shows sometimes which has led Vin in the past to call her a dirty rotten song stealer as he claims it as his own.

The hour continued on with We Got The Beat (Krisie), Long Black Train, (Vin) Sunglasses At Night (Krisie), Digging Up Bones (Vin) which had Krisie and Vin laughing and bantering back and forth, Goodbye Earl (Krisie), a fave of mine that Krise does although a song about domestic violence shouldn't be fun but that song is. Picture by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow is such a heartbreaking beautiful song that often has my eyes watering so when Krisie and Vin sang it they had me reaching for the tissues.. just lovely. Pretty Good At Drinking Beer (Vin)..hmmmm was this dedicated to me lol, Bonfire Heart (Krisie), Bad Moon Rising (Vin) followed before Krise and Vin closed out the hour with 2 more duets that they just had fun with. Jackson by Johnny Cash and June Carter and In Spite Of Ourselves by John Prine and Iris DeMent a hilarious song that may just well have been written for Krisie and Vin.

One thing that always makes my heart smile with these two is the obvious love that they have for each other and the easy way that they banter and tease each other like couples do who know each other so well. I am so glad that Vin has taken the leap and is testing the waters and while I have no doubt that he will be performing solo shows in the near future (with Krisie in the audience offering her support) I do hope that they will also continue to perform duets from time to time as together they just make me feel all warm and fuzzy..

A great debut Vin, see you performing around the grid soon :)))
